About Rockland County


Rockland County is a suburb of New York City. It is on the west side of the Hudson River, across from Westchester County. Rockland County is made up of 5 towns (Clarkstown, Orangetown, Stony Point, Haverstraw, and Ramapo) .

Where is Rockland County?


Rockland County is twenty minutes north of New York City on the west side of the Hudson River. It is bordered on the south by the state of New Jersey. By car from New Jersey, take the Palisades Parkway North, take the Garden State Parkway North, Route 9W North, Route 17 North or Route 287 East (if you are coming from Western New Jersey).

If you are driving from New York City, take either the George Washington Bridge to the Palisades North or the Saw Mill Parkway to Route 287 West to the Tappan Zee Bridge.

From Connecticut, take Route 287 West or from the Danbury area, take Route 684 to Route 287 West to the Tappan Zee Bridge.
