| Outstanding!
This restaurant is a gem! It’s very obvious that, behind the scenes,
they take their food very seriously, with a great deal of thought and
effort in the preparation. Called "New American Cuisine," their
menu says "no mediocrity" — and they mean it! Each dish is a masterpiece — a delight to your eyes and to your taste buds! The menu is so large and varied (entrees include pastas, prime beef, seafood, fresh fish, roast duckling, and much more), that we had a good deal of trouble making our choices! Not to worry — we'll be back many times to taste everything! The portions are huge and the service is fast and friendly — we had almost as much fun talking to our waitress as enjoying our food! Sourdough bread, warm and soft, as well as an assortment of flat bread is served right up front, with house butter — a garlic butter with paprika and a “secret spice.” We started with Smoked Chicken Quesadillas — served piping hot and dripping with jack cheese, with red onions, poblano peppers, and avocado salsa. Thai Spring Rolls are served in a Chinese take-out container, over peanut fried rice, with a tangy Mongolian dipping sauce. Outrageous — delicious! The Shrimp Carbonara (one of the several daily specials), served with linguine, Canadian bacon, peas in an Alfredo sauce was heavenly — rich and creamy, with plenty of Parmesan cheese. Meat loaf -- sounds ordinary? Oh, no — not here! Each slice is wrapped in applewood-smoked bacon, grilled individually, and served with sumptious garlic mashed potatoes with a rich, wild mushroom gravy, and a fiesta of colorful grilled vegetables -- a feast for your eyes & your mouth! Make sure you leave room for dessert! Choose from key lime pie with fresh whipped cream, strawberry shortcake with fresh berry sauce, peach cobbler with vanilla bean ice cream, flourless chocolate cake with caramel, ice cream with lace cookies. We loved the deep dish apple pie with cinnamon ice cream, and the chocolate bread pudding drizzled with chocolate sauce — light and fluffy — just right! The Tabica Grill boasts an amazingly large selection of specialty drinks, cognacs, brandies, ales, porters, stouts, lagers, single malts, seven different kinds of tequila — and wonderful specialty coffees — to complement your meal. An assortment of fine cigars are available for smoking at the bar after 10:00 pm. Dinner for two, family gatherings, and all types of catered events from wine tastings, cigar dinners, fashion shows, luncheons and tea parties to cooking demonstrations -- this restaurant is superb! Open for lunch and dinner, with a children’s menu and a very varied Early Bird menu (5:00 to 6:30 pm; $8.95 to $10.95). Last, but not least, ladies — make sure to visit the restroom — it's beautiful! Forget your diet! This is restaurant is a must for anyone and everyone who loves food! Handicapped access. |
